Last updated: June 16, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of altobudgeting.com and the Alto applications (the "Service") provided by Alto ("we", "us", or "Alto"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using Alto, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for any activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.

3. Subscriptions and Billing

Alto offers paid subscription plans billed through Stripe (on the web) or via your Apple/Google Play account (on mobile apps). By starting a paid subscription, you authorize us (or the respective app store) to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. You can cancel from the Settings page at any time, or via your device's subscription settings. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. Pricing and features may change; we will give you reasonable notice of material changes.

4. Bank Connections via Plaid

When you connect a financial institution through Plaid, you authorize Plaid to access information from your account on our behalf. Your use of Plaid is also governed by the Plaid End User Privacy Policy. Alto is not a bank and does not move money on your behalf.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose;
  • Attempt to access another user's data or account;
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service;
  • Upload malicious code or attempt to disrupt our infrastructure;
  • Misuse the Service in any way that could damage or overburden it.

6. Not Financial Advice

Alto is a budgeting tool. It is not a financial advisor, broker, or fiduciary. Nothing in the Service constitutes financial, tax, legal, or investment advice. You are solely responsible for decisions you make about your money.

7. Data and Privacy

Our handling of your information is described in our Privacy Policy. You retain ownership of the data you enter into Alto.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe doing so is necessary to protect Alto, its users, or third parties.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any data displayed will be accurate or complete.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alto and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, or use, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated through the Service.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Alto is established, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
